TalentHub's mission has always been to help simplify & ultimately improve the recruitment process for small to medium sized businesses across New Zealand. Over the last 2 years we have worked hard to fulfil this mission by listening to our customers, collecting feedback & building functionality that would reach this objective.
In this time, we have made many iterations to the software which has led to a multi-featured, robust online service that is offered to the market completely free of charge. We want to support the 97% of New Zealand enterprises that have 20 or fewer staff members to hire the best possible talent so they may grow their business & our economy as a whole.
Our software is completely scalable & we've done all the legwork to provide a simple yet extremely valuable service for any local business to benefit from. Here's our progress so far & what we’re looking to do in the coming year:
We introduced an embedded application management system to assist recruiters & hiring managers to better manage their hiring needs. We’ve created the Kanban like applications management system so people could drag & drop their incoming applicants through their completely customisable recruitment process.
We added the ability for businesses to be able to create company profiles so that they may advertise their roles, prescreen incoming candidates, process incoming applications & use the variety of other useful functionality to manage their hiring requirements.
We’ve released a fully interactive & customisable form building framework for generating a multitude of outcomes. This includes the ability to prescreen incoming candidates, create questionnaires to assess applicant fit, send out opinion polls, HR surveys & a lot more.
To minimise time spent reviewing inappropriate & unsuitable applications, we’ve introduced a ‘stop rule’ function when building forms to pre-screen candidates during the job application process. You can add 'if this then that’ workflow rules with private screen out messages for candidates that don’t fit the job requirements. these stop rules can also be applied to absolutely any type of form generated via TalentHub.
For those not wanting to loose quality applicants after you’ve already hired someone, we’ve created a useful feature. So, the next time you’re searching for a similar candidate for another vacancy, you will be able to explore across your old applicant database to see if those that didn’t make the cut last time would be interested to reapply again.
To enhance user experience & ability to find what you’re looking for faster, we upgraded our search engine by releasing a lot of improvements to our core functionality. It’s now quick & seamless so users can search across all of our databases including jobs, candidates, companies & recruiters. We also made a bunch of improvements to the recruitment profile including adding location maps & several extra useful fields.
TalentHub users have been given the ability to create multiple position pipelines & share them with other users. So, if you need to share your progress with your manager or let the client know where you’re at with hiring their perfect staff member, give them access & they will be able to see what you see. This is especially useful for when you go on leave & need to do a hand over to a colleague.
Save & notify
Users who want to have TalentHub find what they’re looking for automatically, will now be able to create a Save Search so once the search criteria is met, their saved search will be populated automatically & a notification sent out so the user can follow up.
We’ve also introduced a series of other features when you’re creating a new job, including a custom url to apply, referral fee, ability to enable or disable comments, customisable key words & ability to attach files.
We’ve created useful automated reference checking functionality so prior to making the candidate an offer, you are able to create a reference check request directly from the application & have it automatically sent for completion. Once done, the users will be notified & this reference will go into their reference bank for reference checks in the future.
We’d like to make sure there is business continuity if our users have staff turnover. If you’re a business with a TalentHub profile & an employee decides to move on, you will be able to transfer the ownership of their account (including their applications, pipelines etc) to yourself or a new person you’ve hired. This will ensure you don’t loose the work that has already been done & maintain hiring continuity.
We’ve gone all out to make our service as secure as possible providing privacy & data integrity using cryptographic protocols (TLS certificates). We go above & beyond industry security guidelines to continuously conduct manual penetration testing & automated vulnerability scans but feel there's always room for improvement. This is why we'll be inviting an independent third party internal auditor to perform a cyber defence review of our security measures & performance.
This one will be awesome as users will be able to automate next or upcoming actions depending on how questions were answered in forms or questionnaires. Essentially, you’ll be able to add a condition, saying if a user answers A, then next question should be B. This will be useful when needing to collect specific information from users or guiding them whilst answering additional assessments or questionnaires.
Introduction of voting ability on our forums where once registered, users will be able to vote up or down on forum discussions around which features should be developed next (based on whether they will find them useful or not). If more people upvote a link than downvote it, it will rise up the roadmap feature list for development.
Password protected forms
Users will be able to send password protected forms or questionnaires to others for completion. This will be useful for extended human resourcing (HR) activities especially if there is a need for sensitive material to be shared or a requirement for greater privacy.
Connect to your team
We will be providing the users an ability to connect to an existing company profile during the registration stage. If you work for a particular business, once you register you can select & specify who it is so you can get added to their profile. This is especially useful for recruiters looking to build a comprehensive market presence or small businesses using their company profile as a careers portal.
We will be investing in adding emoticons & emojis to our editors & communication tools including Chat, Notes & Commentary. We want to help our users be social & amplify any message they want to transmit for a richer communication experience.
